STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 2 Stanford men's gymnastics team will compete for the first time outside of California this season as the Cardinal sets to travel to face No. 3 Minnesota, No. 5 Illinois and No. 7 Iowa. The meet is set for Saturday, Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. PT in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Cardinal (9-0, 4-0 MPSF) continued to steamroll its competition last weekend as it collected two more wins over No. 8 California and No. 11 Michigan at home. In the meet, Stanford posted its best team score (447.700) since the scoring system was adjusted in 2012.
Akash Modi continued on his dominant season, picking up his third all-around title on the year, while also posting a career-best in pommel horse (15.500) and season-bests in rings (14.600), vault (14.900) and parallel bars (16.050).
In the meet, four additional Cardinal added season or career-bests to the tally on the night as Stanford stepped up to post the second-highest team score in the nation this season.
