Modi Finishes Fourth

GLASGOW, Scotland – Stanford junior Akash Modi continued his phenomenal 2016 campaign Sunday as he represented the U.S. in the Glasgow World Cup. Modi finished in fourth place in the all-around while taking first in parallel bars with a 15.166 score.

Modi opened up the meet with a seventh place finish in floor with a 14.300 which he followed up with a 12.966 sixth place finish in pommel horse. A 14.133 on rings placed Modi seventh in the field before a 14.600 in vault was good for a sixth place finish.

Parallel bars saw Modi shake up the standings with a 15.166 to tie for first with Great Britain's Daniel Purvis. The junior closed out the meet with a fourth place finish in high bar, taking a 14.533 score. On the day, Modi posted an 85.698 all-around score to take fourth against competitors from Great Britain, Brazil, Japan, Russia, Switzerland, China and Korea.

The Cardinal will take a brief break as it prepares to host the MPSF Championship. Stanford will face off for a conference title on April 2 at 4 p.m. in Burnham Pavilion.
