STANFORD, Calif. – No. 2 Stanford will pursue its sixth national title at the NCAA Championships this week in Columbus, Ohio. The Cardinal claimed NCAA titles in 1992, 1993, 1995, 2009 and 2011.
Stanford (15-2, 7-2 MPSF) begins the competition Thursday at 4 p.m. (PT) in Session II and will compete against No. 3 Ohio State, No. 6 Illinois, No. 7 Iowa, No. 10 Air Force and No. 11 Michigan.
The Cardinal has been phenomenal all season, spending every week ranked in the top-three in the country. Stanford has broken the 440-point mark four times this season and has finished first in every competition except its head-to-head with Oklahoma and the MPSF Championship.
Stanford placed second at the MPSF Championship with a 444.650 – the team's fifth consecutive runner-up finish at the conference competition.

• Stanford scored 444.650 at the MPSF Championships to claim its fifth consecutive second-place finish.
• The Cardinal took event titles in three events with Akash Modi winning floor (15.650), Dennis Zaremski winning rings (15.550) and Grant Breckenridge taking high bar (15.250)
• Akash Modi has earned 16 individual event victories against NCAA teams this year: all-around (4), parallel bars (3), floor (5), pommel horse (2) and high bar (2)
• Modi was named the MPSF Gymnast of the Year for third consecutive season, the first gymnast to do so since Oklahoma's Jon Horton. He also owns the career record in CGA Gymnast of the Week awards with 14
