Julian Sanchez is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, where he studies issues at the  intersection of technology, privacy, and civil liberties, with a focus on national security and intelligence surveillance. Before coming to Cato in 2009, Sanchez covered these issues as a writer for Reason magazine, The Economist, and the technology news site Ars Technica. He is a founding editor of the policy blog Just Security.
