The Hoover Institution's National Security, Technology, and Law Working Group, along with Hoover's Washington, DC office, hosted a discussion on the growing role of women soldiers in special operations and beyond in America's post-9/11 wars on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.

Hoover working group member and senior fellow at the Brookings Institution Benjamin Wittes, along with author Gayle Tzemach Lemmon, senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, take a look at her book, the New York Times best-seller Ashley's War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield. Lemmon uses on-the-ground reporting and a finely tuned understanding of the complexities of war to tell the story of CST-2, a unit of women hand-picked from the Army back in 2011 to serve on special operations combat missions in Afghanistan alongside Army Rangers and Navy SEALs.
