Meet the bAND!

devon.jpg

Devon Burger

Devon is the Business Manager of the group, and an avid shower singer who spends more time than she's willing to admit on Netflix. She loves everything Austrian after spending a gap year living in the beautiful city of Salzburg, enjoys spending time with her friends and/or her pet snake, and her favorite place in the world is the sleep away camp where she spent the last thirteen summers. Interested in booking the Harmonics? Email Devon at business@stanfordharmonics.com!

Elise Miller

Elise, a native of San Antonio, Texas and spicy food enthusiast, is excited to return to The Harmonics this year as the Musical Director and a member of the Sop(rano) Society. She enjoys playing oboe and bagpipes, solving math problems, programming by moonlight, dreaming about the Standard Model, taking quasi-artsy Instagram photos, and wearing mismatched holiday socks. For group matters, contact her at director@stanfordharmonics.com.

david.jpg

David Altman

This year's Financial Officer and a connoisseur of awkwardly long hugs, David likes singing the bass line so much that he does it without pause, to the great annoyance of everyone around him. He may seem friendly, but he is terrified of social contact and will recede into a catatonic state if pressured. In accordance with this, please be cautious to not startle or overfeed a feral member of this species.

lina.jpg

Lina Khoeur

As our Performance Director and long-time a cappella girl, Lina has always been surrounded by singing. Namely, her own – more often than not, you’ll catch her humming anything from gospel to hardstyle to rap. She is a prospective Human Biology major and Psychology minor, and hopes to eventually drill into peoples’ heads for a living (she means brain surgery). However, most of the time you’ll find her drinking anything coffee-related and procrasti-studying in her dorm room, which never seems to find itself empty of guests (probably because of the free cough drops and hot chocolate.)

kaylee.jpg

Kaylee Beam

Kaylee, aspiring environmental engineer and elephant lover, is a newbie to the a cappella world and eager to jump on the Harmz train. When she's not singing or taking cat naps to catch up on sleep, she enjoys nighttime cardio workouts, turning up with her STEM-related homework and making that perfect cup of coffee at the end of a long day.

dylan.jpg

DYLAN BEDFORD

Hailing from the rolling foothills and sweeping vistas of Rhode Island, Dylan is excited to be joining The Harmonics as a tenor this year. Dylan enjoys long walks off of short piers, video games and supposedly dead languages. He still doesn't know where he is, what he's doing with his life, or why a group of squids isn't called a squad, but ultimately he hopes to gain an exciting career in the fast-paced and highly lucrative fields of classics and the humanities.

zack.jpg

ZACK CINQUINI

Zack is a freshman hailing from the not-so-distant land of San Carlos, California. During the rare moments when he is not singing, you may find Zack playing board games until his fingers get numb or drawing comic strips that he thinks are actually quite clever. His love of a cappella music is second only to his passion for styling his hair into the perfect “swoosh.”

davin.jpg

DAVIN CURTIS

Davin is back to ensure the Harmonics continue to sing with the forerunners of the a cappella world. He remains woefully undeclared, but luckily, finds himself at a fantastic school for indecisive people like himself. In addition to making music with his friends and teammates, Davin enjoys nighttime walks, bonfires, and those quiet talks at the end of a night of revelry.

yeji.jpg

Yeji Jung

Yeji is a sophomore from Flower Mound, Texas. Outside of rehearsal, you'll find her lacing up her beloved Docs for a workshop on racial justice or keeping bees at the actual farm on the Farm. If you love bees, you have her heart.

preeti.jpg

Preeti Kakani

Singing soprano, alto and mezzo parts for Harmz, Preeti continually finds herself plagued by an unresolved vocal identity crisis. She is the resident animal video enthusiast of the group, and can usually be found either watching or gushing about adorable puppies caught on camera. Outside of rehearsal, Preeti also enjoys playing chess, pursuing her love for science in and out of class, and watching Netflix at ungodly hours of the night.

deepti.jpg

DEEPTI Kannan

A freshman contemplating an engineering major, Deepti is excited to join the Harmz community as an alto with a tenor range who secretly wishes she were a bass. Her musical roots are grounded in her 12 years of piano and South Indian classical singing, which she studied in her hometown of Saratoga, California. She also enjoys scientific research, running (when she's in shape), binge watching Netflix, baking delicious treats, and delivering long-winded philosophical rants about the most trivial and deep topics.

daria.jpg

daria lamberson

Daria is a senior majoring in Computer Science, and she's stoked to be returning to the Harmonics after a two-year break! She enjoys drawing beautiful lists, making silly faces, and crying during kids' movies. You'll often find her ballet dancing in bathroom mirrors, watching Netflix in blanket forts, or standing in doorways. She sings soprano and thinks about little black puppies to hit the high notes!

james.jpg

James Ordner

James has a very do-it-yourself attitude, having taught himself to play guitar, piano, and to sing in his free time. He joined the Harmonics after parting ways with his high school band in Texas, and a cappella has since become a defining experience for him at Stanford. His major is undecided, but when asked he will often say that he plans to major in Electrical Engineering with a focus in signal processing and sound design.

rio.jpg

rÍo padilla-smith

Originally from California, Río moved at a young age to Colorado in order to train to become a Pokémon master. Unfortunately, he was unable to find any Pokémon to train and ended up returning to California in order to attend Stanford University so that he could get a real job. Nowadays, Río pursues a cappella with the Stanford Harmonics as a bass, lower bass, and lowest bass due to his voice's ability to drop like the temperature on the mountains he explored.  Besides singing, he also enjoys playing soccer, skiing, running, playing flute, swimming, talking in funny accents, and playing Dungeons and Dragons.

ben.jpg

benjamin share

A freshman and San Francisco native with a love for riddles, red pandas, and all things musical, Benjamin is psyched to be joining Stanford’s most harmonious a cappella group this year. As a member of the bass contingent, he hopes to discover new things in the depths of his soul / range, as well as making occasional forays into that undiscovered country known as “the upper register.” While not singing or pursuing a tentative Symbolic Systems major, Benjamin can usually be found playing with (his) dogs, debating, or doing Dance Dance Revolution.
