On May 22nd, 2012 Sam Arnold spoke at Ethics@Noon, exploring the meaning and significance of economic liberties, and suggesting that, while these liberties are, indeed, important, they are of less importance than other, more familiar "basic liberties" like freedom of speech, association, and religion. Sam Arnold received his Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton in September, 2011. His research interests include the liberal tradition, distributive justice, and the place of meaningful work in liberal egalitarian theory.
