Colonel Viet Luong was a visiting scholar at the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) at Stanford University and spoke for the Ethics@Noon series. His talk highlights examples of ethical decisions that Colonel Luong and his subordinate leaders made during his brigade's combat deployment to eastern Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011. He will discuss how his brigade prepared to operate in this complex environment and how the unit maintained an ethical climate in combat. Luong is currently serving as a visiting scholar at the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) representing the U.S. Army.
The Ethics@noon series consists of informal noon-time talks and discussions, focused on different ethical issues. Each week, Stanford faculty tackle important questions of ethics that arise in private and public life. See more Ethics@Noon talks here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=...
