Karen Francone and Carol Galvin reflections on what the Hope House Scholars Program has meant to them

Each quarter, two Stanford faculty members offer a course in the humanities to the residents of Hope House, a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility for women, many that have recently been released from prison. Focusing on such themes as ethics, social justice, and moral responsibility, the women of Hope House engage in college-level course work as part of their rehabilitation and recovery.

The McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society is committed to bringing ethical reflection to bear on important social problems through research, teaching, and engagement. Visit the Center's website for more information: http://ethicsinsociety.stanford.edu
