The second annual Burt and Deedee McMurtry Lecture features artist Robert Irwin. Irwin's art focuses on perception as the fundamental issue of art. He often creates “conditional” pieces like his Untitled (1969) discs. Irwin was part of the L.A.- based “Light and Space” movement in the 1960s that focused not on the object, but on the experience of perception itself.

Hear him answer the question, "Why Art?"
