Custom Programs: Design Your Learning Experience

The Stanford Center for Professional Development and IPS Learning collaborate with you to design a learning experience that best meets the needs of your team. We work with you to identify the courses that address your challenges and determine the delivery options that align with your budget and timeframe.

Content and Delivery Options

Working with your organization, we can create a learning experience that is delivered in the most meaningful, efficient, and cost-effective way. Our existing course content, available in a variety of delivery methods, enables qualified participants to "learn it today, apply it tomorrow."

If your organization requires more flexibility in course content and delivery, we can tailor the program—from classroom activities and web-based exercises to project teams, residencies, and social events. This tailoring will reflect your organization's business strategies, processes, and terminology to optimize learning and maximize the educational process.

  • At Work

In-Person Lectures and Activities at Your Work Site
Most Stanford Advanced Project Management courses are available for delivery at your work site. Taught by IPS Learning professionals with years of experience as consultants and educators in the field of project management, these "at work" programs:

  • Bring the program content directly to your workplace
  • Enable your employees to learn together while earning the Stanford Advanced Project Management professional certificate
  • Allow for content to be tailored to reflect your organization's business strategies and processes; instructors come prepared to discuss your projects and initiatives
  • Save on tuition, travel costs, and time away from the office
  • Enhanced Online

Asynchronous Online Viewing with Instructor Q&A
In addition to the asynchronous online features, the enhanced online delivery includes three strategically scheduled live webinars to allow for geographically dispersed teams to interact with one another and with instructors. Using an online meeting platform, these webinars are conducted by an appropriate instructor and include (approximately) 30 minutes of lecture and 30 minutes of discussion and/or question and answer. This modality maintains the flexibility of asynchronous viewing of online courses while still allowing for instructor interaction at a reduced cost.

  • Live Virtual

Synchronous Online Participation with Instructor Interaction
Geographically dispersed teams can enjoy many of the benefits of in-person lectures and activities delivered at the work site by arranging simultaneous participation online. Instructors present course content via an online meeting platform utilizing a phone or VOIP connection and deliver the same learning experience you would get in a classroom, including synchronous, real-time interaction among the instructor and participants. Courses are typically taught by one instructor, delivered in 3-5 hour time blocks, and include interactive virtual breakouts. Live virtual courses are scheduled to best fit your schedule, and benefits include convenience, reduced cost, and full team participation.

  • Customized Learning

Combine Delivery Options or Create a New Experience
You can select delivery options based on your needs and budget. Many organizations kick off the Stanford Advanced Project Management program with one or more courses delivered face-to-face at the work site. Participants are then encouraged to earn their professional certificate by completing online courses. This approach stimulates interest and demonstrates relevance with one or two of our most popular and interactive courses, and then shifts to more economical and flexible online participation. Some organizations reward high-potentials, or all participants, with a capstone experience at Stanford where they complete their final course and receive their certificate. We also welcome the opportunity to work with you to develop a customized program for a unique learning experience.
