Want to make the arts part of your wellness routine today? Here are some other recommendations from Matthew Tiews, Executive Director of Arts Programs, for unwinding on campus:

  • The Cantor Arts Center is always free and has an excellent and wide-ranging collection. You can go there any time and spend 15 minutes or three hours.

  • Walk through the Rodin Sculpture Garden, past the Andy Goldsworthy sculpture, "Stone River," and out through the Arboretum to the Mausoleum and the cactus garden. It is a beautiful combination of art and nature and an excellent path for contemplation.
  • Check out the Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden at Santa Teresa and Lomita Drive, which is a jewel hidden in plain sight! Ten artists from the Sepik River area in New Guinea created these wood and stone sculptures on-site in 1994; they are powerful, unusual works and it's a lovely, tree-filled garden that is a little refuge in a busy part of campus.
