Yoga on the Labyrinth

Rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit as we perform sacred gestures in the sacred space of Memorial Church on a sacred piece of geometry, the labyrinth. The space and light this architecture offers to visitors is awe inspiring and memorable.

Stanford Earth Day at the new Arrillaga Rec Center

All Stanford Earth Sciences faculty, staff, postdocs and students are invited and encouraged to participate in Stanford Earth Sciences Day at the new Arrillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center on Wednesday April 30 between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.   Our school received a special invitation from the AOERC staff to acquaint us with this beautiful facility that offers 75,000 square feet of indoor recreation space plus the 50-meter outdoor Avery Recreation Pool.

Conversations on Compassion with Paul Ekman, Ph.D.

Paul Ekman, Professor Emeritus in Psychology at UCSF, is the researcher and author best known for furthering our understanding of nonverbal behavior, encompassing facial expressions and gestures. In addition to his own distinguished academic career, Ekman has authored more than 100 published articles and holds several honorary doctoral degrees.

Trigger Happy: Handling Hot Button Emotions

CPR and AED

CPR is an emergency first aid procedure for a victim of cardiac arrest. Participants will learn how to help victims of heart attacks and accidents, and also learn the Heimlich Maneuver to aid choking victims. Practice with mannequins is included. AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training included. Certificate of completion cards will be sent out 2 weeks after the class.
