Walking in Balance

Ever wonder why you make so much noise when you walk? Loud walking is one sign that you are putting undue wear and tear on all of your joints. Learn how to tread lightly on the earth and in your joints in this 'next step' of Balance training. This 4-session class applies the elements of spinal alignment learned in "Back Relief Top to Bottom" to help you walk anew with an entirely different set of muscles. We will review spinal alignment while sitting and standing, and do exercises to deepen your understanding of how to move in comfort.

Relieve Your Neck and Shoulders

Imagine your work day without a stiff neck and sore shoulders. Pain in your hands can often be relieved by correcting shoulder blades placement.  With a few shifts in the way you sit, combined with releasing muscles in your neck and shoulders, you can feel a lot better. Each participant will be given an initial individual assessment followed by hands-on guidance for positioning and exercises throughout this 4-session course. With guided practice, you can find the position to heal yourself.

Webinar: Movement vs. Exercise: What's the Difference and Why Does it Matter?

It is not news that exercise reduces disease risk, and may add to one’s longevity by a decade or more. But "movement", which is less intense and performed regularly throughout the day and the lifespan, is correlated to potential longevity beyond that achieved by exercise. Lack of movement, on the other hand, creates a "super-relaxed state" of muscle that reduces the metabolic rate dramatically and creates profound negative implications for disease risk and mortality.
