Europe
Biodesign has been working in partnership with a number of 'Biodesign-like' programs that are starting or have started in Europe. Once such programs reached a critical mass (in 2012) planning began on a bi-annual meeting that would replicate the US-based BME-IDEA meetings that are held to bring US programs and faculty together. The first meeting of BME-IDEA Europe was held in Ireland, hosted by the BioInnovate program at NUI Galway and Stanford Biodesign. More than a dozen programs were in attendance at that first meeting.
Work is continuing with this alliance to create shared resources.
