David P. Lee, M.D., is an Associate Professor of CardioVascular Medicine at Stanford University's School of Medicine. Dr. Lee's clinical focus is in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He is currently working on several clinical trials: collecting additional safety information on the FDA approved Endeaver stent; a randomized controlled study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Tryton Side Branch Stent used in conjunction with a Drug-Eluting Stent; the use of TAXUS Liberte stent in conjunction with a medication called prasugrel, among others. Dr. Lee received his S.B. from MIT, Biology. He went on to earn his M.D. from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. He first came to Stanford in 1992 for his Internal Medicine Residency and then continued at Stanford as a Cardiovascular Medicine Fellow in 1995. He was Chief Fellow in 1998 and completed an Interventional Cardiology fellowship in 1999. He has been on staff at Stanford since 1999. Dr. Lee's current research interests include the use of GP llb/llla inhibitors and other pharmacotherapy in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, novel approaches to coronary revascularization, and closure devices for atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovale.
