Frank M. Fischer joined NeuroPace, Inc in 1998 serving on the Board of Directors until 2000 leading to his current position as CEO. NeuroPace designs, develops, manufactures, and markets implantable devices for the treatment of neurological disorders by responsive brain stimulation. The company's primary interest is the treatment of epilepsy and from there, the treatment other debilitating neurological disorders. Before joining NeuroPace, Mr. Fischer was President and CEO as well as a board member, of Heartport, Inc., a cardiac surgery company. He has also held the offices of President, CEO, and Director, of Ventritex, Inc.,(later acquired by St. Jude Medical, Inc.) a company that initiated implantable cardiac defibrillators. Prior to Ventritex, Mr. Fischer held various management positions at Cordis Corporation in cardiac and neurosurgical areas including President of the Implantable Products Division. Additionally, Mr. Fischer spent seven years with General Electric Company in various operating positions. Combined with his 25 years of experience with medical devices, his current NeuroPace position illustrates his value and expertise within the industry. Mr. Fischer received his M.S. degree in Management from Renssenlaer Polytechnic Institute and serves on the boards of several privately owned medical device companies.
