Karun D. Naga is Director of Corporate Development at Medtronic, Inc. in Mountain View, California. Mr. Naga joined Medtronic in January 2011 via its $800M+ acquisition of Ardian, an emerging medical device company pioneering a catheter-based treatment for hypertension. At Ardian he served on the management team as Vice President of Intellectual Property & Legal Affairs. Prior to Ardian, Mr. Naga was affiliated with The Foundry, a medical device incubator, where he served on the founding team of Miramar Labs, an emerging technology company in the dermatology and lifestyle medicine markets. He also previously worked at Mentor Corporation, a leader in the aesthetic medicine and urology markets, as its first in-house intellectual property counsel. Prior to Mentor Corp, Mr. Naga was an intellectual property attorney in the Southern California offices of law firms Jones Day and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. Mr. Naga holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University, a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.
