Karen D. Talmadge, Ph.D., is President at Nabu Health Care Consulting and 2011 Vice Chair to the National Board of American Diabetes Association. Currently, she is on the board of directors Velocity Pharmaceutical Development, Venous Health Systems, Amplyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and VeraLight, Inc. She is also chair of the board of directors at Gynesonics. Prior to Nabu, Dr. Talmadge was Chief Science Officer of Kyphon products under Medtronic Spine. She was also co-founder, CEO, and CSO of of Kyphon when it was a start-up company. Before Kyphon, Dr. Talmadge was Chief Scientist, Vice President of Research and Development Meta Bio, Director of Business Development, and Marketing Research Director at Scios. She holds an A.B. in Biology from Bryn Mawr College and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Harvard University.
