Michael J. Horzewski is the COO of VytronUS, Inc. He recently received a U.S. patent for a device used for the prevention, reduction, or elimination of tissue injury by the application of electromagnetic energy. through Yellow Brick Medical, Inc., Previously he was the vice president of operations at Timi3 Systems where he led the company in its pursuit of developing noninvasive ultrasound to treat patients experiencing a heart attack. Prior to starting Timi3, he was a co-founder and director of engineering at Danforth Biomedical, where he worked with over forty companies on various consulting projects ranging from proof-of-concept prototypes to the full transfer and setup of domestic and international manufacturing lines. The resulting products launched many companies, including Vascular Solutions, Revasc Corporation, Neoseed Technology, and Baff. He was also instrumental in the acquisition of Danforth by ACT Medical (MedSource Technologies). Before joining Danforth, Mr. Horzewski worked for Guidant as a project engineer and developed the industry's first Rapid Exchange catheter. He has over 17 years of medical device experience, holds thirty-nine U.S. patents, has several publications, and holds a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California. He uses this knowledge and experience to help future innovators, serving as a member of the University of Southern California Biomedical Engineering Advisory Board and a mentor for the Stanford Biodesign Innovation Program.
