Robert K. Jackler, M.D., is a Sewall professor and chair of Otolaryngology in addition to being a professor (by courtesy) of Neurosurgery and Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. His clinical focus is in Acoustic Neuroma, Meningioma, Neurofibromatosis 2, Glomus Jugulare Tumor, Ear Neoplasms, and Otosclerosis. Also at Stanford, he served as Associate Dean of Postgraduate Medical Education and Associate Dean of Continuing Medical Education. Prior to Stanford, Dr. Jackler was an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology, an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology, an Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery, a Professor of Otolaryngology, a Professor of Neurological Surgery, and Vice Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of California, San Francisco. Previously, Dr. Jackler also served as a consultant of Otolaryngology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, San Francisco and the Letterman Army Hospital, Presidio of San Francisco. He has received numerous awards including the Distinguished Service Award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology. Additionally, he has lectured at dozens of Universities and Societies worldwide. He received his A.B. from Brandeis University graduating Cum Laude. Dr. Jackler also holds an M.D. from the Boston University School of Medicine. His post-graduate training consisted of an Internship in Surgery at the University of California Hospitals, San Francisco, California. He also completed his residency in Otolaryngology at the University of California Hospitals. In addition, Dr. Jackler completed a fellowship in Otology and Neurotology at the Otologic Medical Group at the House Ear Institute, Los Angeles, California. Currently, Dr. Jackler is conducting a clinical trial in subtotal resection of large acoustic neuromas with possible stereotactic radiation therapy.
