Ben Scott is a Visiting Fellow at the Stiftung Neue Verantwortung in Berlin and Senior Adviser to the Open Technology Institute at the New America Foundation in Washington DC. Previously, he was Policy Advisor for Innovation at the US Department of State, where he worked at the intersection of technology and foreign policy. Tara Whalen is a Staff Privacy Analyst at Google. She obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Ottawa, with a Concentration in Law and Technology. Tara previously worked as a Privacy Engineer at Apple, and as an IT Research Analyst at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
