Personal bio
David Lummus received his B.A. in Italian and Classics from the University of Texas @ Austin in 2001, was a Fulbright Scholar in Matera, Italy in 2001-02, and received his Ph.D. in Italian Studies from Stanford in 2008. Between 2008 and 2012, David was Assistant Professor of Italian at Yale University and in 2010-11 he was a Visiting Scholar at the Medieval Institute of the University of Notre Dame. He has published on Giovanni Boccaccio, Dante Alighieri, and Francesco Petrarca, as well as 20th-century Italian poetry. In addition to his academic pursuits, David enjoys hiking, biking, and traveling.
