Personal bio
Philip Bucksbaum received his A.B. degree in Physics from Harvard University in 1975, and his Ph.D. in Physics from U.C. Berkeley in 1980. He was on the research staff at Bell Telephone Laboratories (1981-1990) and the Physics faculty at the University of Michigan (1990-2006) before joining the Stanford faculty in 2006. He is an atomic physicist, with special interests in ultrafast lasers and x-rays. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and a Fellow in the Optical Society, the American Physical Society, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Currently teaching |
