Chemical kinetics, elementary reactions, mechanisms, rate-limiting steps, and quasi-steady state approximations. Ideal isothermal and non-isothermal reactors; design principles. Steady state and unsteady state operation of reactors; conversion and limitations of thermodynamic equilibrium. Enzymes and heterogeneous catalysis and catalytic reaction mechanisms.
