socialist press conference poster

Stanford University Libraries holds the prestigious Gustave Gimon Collection on French Political Economy and the Robert Le Quillec collection on the Paris Commune. This conference will bring together scholars from France, England, and the United States for days of presentations related to the ensemble of socialist periodicals contained in these two collections. Participants include Bay Area specialists on French socialism and socialists, and this year's recipients of the Stanford University Libraries' Gimon Fellowship on French Political Economy, as well as researchers involved in a four-year research project funded by the French Agence Nationale de la Recherche on nineteenth-century French socialism, entitled "A Forgotten Tradition: French Socialist Intellectuals and Reformers, 1830-1870".
