    FIRST LADY AT STANFORD IN BEIJING: Michelle Obama spoke in March at the Stanford Center at Peking University in Beijing. Following her remarks to a local audience, the First Lady held a conversation by videoconference with students in California at the Graduate School of Business. The event leveraged the educational technology investment made possible by donors to the school's Global Learning Initiatives Fund.     WATER IN THE WEST: Jeanne, '69, and Bill Landreth, '69, have endowed a fund to support visiting faculty and scholars associated with the Water in the West program. A joint program of the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment and the Bill Lane Center for the American West, Water in the West is focused on sustainable water management—an especially relevant issue as California and much of the western United States experiences drought.
