Overview

The Killam Fellowships Program provides an opportunity for exceptional undergraduate students from universities in the United States to spend either one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in Canada. The Foundation for Educational Exchange Between Canada and the United States of America oversees this award.

The Award

This Killam fellowship assists American students with:

·  $10,000 (USD) per academic year or $5,000 (USD) per semester, cash award to cover cost of education
·  $500 (CAD) Health Insurance Allowance

The Killam Mobility Program is the cultural enrichment component of the fellowship that includes:
·  Fall Orientation in Ottawa, Ontario
·  Cultural Awareness Grant
·  Spring Seminar

Eligibility

·  Be a citizen of the United States
·  Be a currently enrolled full-time undergraduate student in good standing at a fully accredited degree granting institution in the United States
·  Expected to be a full-time undergraduate in good standing during 2014-2015 academic year, should he / she be selected for an award
·  Expected to receive an undergraduate degree in the Spring of 2015 or beyond
·  Meet the eligibility requirements of their home university (as they relate to the participation in international exchange programs)
·  Be proficient in the English language (and/or French, where appropriate)
·  Have a superior and competitive academic record
·  Complete all steps of the application process prior to the published deadlines
