A Jaramillo group paper demonstrates simultaneous detection of electronic structure changes from two elements of a bifunctional catalyst using wavelength-dispersive X-ray emission spectroscopy and in situ electrochemistry in Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics.

Transition Metal Phosphides for the HER

The Jaramillo group works on combining theory and experiment to design an improved transition metal phosphide catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction. Read the full paper in Energy and Environmental Science.

A Step Towards Non-precious PEM Electrolyzers

The Jaramillo group uses earth-abundant molybdenum-based hydrogen evolution catalysts in polymer electrolyte membrane electrolyzers, an important step towards replacing platinum in commercial PEM electrolyzers. Read the full paper in ChemSusChem.
