Chances are high that if you live in the Bay Area, you have seen #SVGives2015 trending online. Last year, over $8 million was raised in 24 hours to support Silicon Valley causes. Are you a Stanford student, alumnus, or faculty member who has relied upon services and materials from our library? Or are you a parent whose child seeks solitude and inspiration within our walls or across our online information network? Gifts of all sizes matter, and will have an impact!
Help bring the sounds of history to life...
By the end of today, we'd like to have 100 rolls from our Player Piano Project processed; it only takes a gift of $35 to process one roll.
The Player Piano Project promotes study and research into all aspects relating to the player piano and organ, especially as they relate to historically informed performance practice of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The Project seeks to bring together researchers, musicians, and others interested in contributing to knowledge of the player piano and organ.
How many rolls will you help make accessible for research and study? Online gifts can be made at https://giving.stanford.edu/libraries. Please designate Player Piano Project.
Two for one? Support the Libraries with a gift for mom!
Did you know, by tradition, Stanford University uses gifts to the Memorial and Celebration Funds to purchase library materials? Gifts of $50 or more will be commemorated with a bookplate. If you are running out of ideas, or time, for Mother's Day gifts, nothing says "Thanks Mom" more than her name in print! Designate "Celebration Bookplate" and provide your email address when making an online gift. You can also contact Sonia Lee at (650) 736-9538 to discuss memorial and celebration gifts.
