Please don’t let me be misunderstood
Every year Halloween rolls around and along with it some very misunderstood creatures are labeled as “scary”. As the song goes “Well I'm just a soul whose intentions are good - Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood”.
Cubberley would like to tout some of our nonfiction books useful in the classroom to help demystify some of these creatures. We have books on spiders (and other insects if that’s your thing) including the incomparable Nic Bishop’s book aptly called Spiders. We have several books on snakes and a great selection of materials on wolves including a fascinating look at the reintroduction of gray wolves to Yellowstone called When the wolves returned: restoring nature’s balance in Yellowstone.
You can use SearchWorks to help you locate additional reading material or use one of our topic guides such as Science education or Animal books for children. Of course, you may always contact us as well.
