Joseph Brodsky Papers from the Archives of the Katilius Family
Brodsky was a Russian and American poet and essayist, awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1987. Ramūnas Katilius, Elmira Katilienė and their son, Ramūnas Jr., were his good friends beginning in 1966. The collection (4.25 linear feet) includes correspondence with the family; drafts of Brodsky’s poems; a collection of poems compiled and typed by him; Vladimir Maramzin’s 3-volume samizdat collection of Brodsky’s poetry; drawings by Brodsky; and photographs.
