Resources are available on and off campus for online learning. These are great opportunities to continue your education or take classes outside of your regular curriculum.

Stanford Online

The Stanford Online website enables students to find courses, faculty to find assistance and inspiration, and anyone interested in educational innovation to follow the developments. Included on this site: Free Online Courses, Stanford iTunesU, Stanford on YouTube, SCPD, Stanford e-Corner, Stanford Engineering Everywhere and Stanford Online High School.

Stanford on iTunes

Stanford on iTunes offers courses, faculty lectures, interviews, music and sports.

Stanford Engineering Everywhere (SEE)

Stanford Engineering Everywhere includes one of Stanford’s most popular sequences: the three-course Introduction to Computer Science taken by the majority of Stanford’s undergraduates and seven more advanced courses in artificial intelligence and electrical engineering.

Stanford Engineering Everywhere offers:

  • Anytime and anywhere access to complete lecture videos via streaming or downloaded media
  • Full course materials including syllabi, handouts, homework, and exams
  • Online social networking with fellow SEE students
  • Support for PCs, Macs and mobile computing devices

Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD)

Stanford Center for Professional Development offers Stanford graduate programs and courses in engineering, computer science, bioinformatics, medical informatics, and engineering management via state-of-the-art interactive delivery systems.

Stanford classes on streaming video can be viewed by registered students over the Web. To view these courses go to Stanford Center for Professional Development.

SCPD Free Public Online Seminars

During the autumn, winter and spring quarters, the Stanford Center for Professional Development makes it possible for the public to view a series of free seminars on a broad range of topics. The weekly seminars feature presentations by distinguished Stanford faculty, senior researchers and industry experts. They are available for viewing online via streaming video.

IEEE E-Learning

IEEE E-Learning provides access to over 250 courses in communications, computing, engineering, power, professional development, and other core and emerging technologies. IEEE has mapped the tutorials in the IEEE eLearning Library to relevant university courses. These courses are limited to Stanford faculty, staff, students.

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) free online classes

A number of Stanford Engineering professors are now offering courses freely online to thousands of students world-wide. You can view the courses and sign up via Coursera.org, Udacity, and NovoEd.
