Using library e-books on e-readers and mobile devices

Some e-book collections allow download and transfer to an e-reader or a mobile device with pdf readers or other reader apps. While each collection has its own unique download process, in general, you can use any device that is able to run Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) such as an android tablet, Nook, iPad, iPhone/iPod touch, Sony e-readers, laptops, desktop, etc. E-book collection sites without a native downloading system can still be "printed" to pdf files, but the result will be too small to read on mobile devices.

Book chapters and articles which are displayed as HTML inside a frame or require proprietary software do not download easily to any device.
