During Spring Quarter, the Meyer 220 Flex Class has been a hub of activity for the students and instructors of Urban Studies 166. Stanford students have been working with a documentarian, an urban historian, a professional film editor, and youth lyricists from the East Palo Alto community to create short ‘hip hop’ documentaries about the history and culture of East Palo Alto.
Academic Computing Services provided facilities and resources in support of this innovative course offering. In addition to class meetings and work sessions conducted in Meyer 220, the resources available at the Meyer Tech Desk have been instrumental in providing the right environment and technology to support the participants’ creative processes.
The premiere of these documentaries is free and open to the public. The event is being held from 6:30-8:30pm on March 18, 2013, in the East Palo Alto City Hall, 2415 University Avenue.
