Seminars/Events
Biomedical Ethics Brown Bags
Beginning in Fall 2006, SCBE's popular bioethics seminar series for Stanford and the surrounding community will be organized quarterly rather than monthly. These lectures are free and open to the public.
Classic Readings in Genetics and Ethics
The Classic Readings in Genetics & Ethics seminar series is co-sponsored by CIRGE and the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics. Each week we will discuss a different classic article or case, and its relevance to a more recent article or case. All readings can be found online.
Jonathan King Lectures
The Jonathan J. King Lectureship was established in 1991 to encourage the compassionate and humane care of all patients. It is a part of Stanford University Medical Center's mission to enhance patient treatment and the art of caring.
Medicine and the Muse Program
Medical Humanities and the Arts
The Arts, Humanities and Medicine Program provides a focal point for integrating the arts and humanities into medical education, the medical center community and the practice of medicine at Stanford. Sample events and programs coordinated by the Program in Arts, Humanities and Medicine include the annual spring Medicine and the Muse Symposium held at Cantor Arts Center and events such as Music and Medicine: The Art of Listening and a writers' symposium.
