Stanford Cancer Institute Membership

About SCI Membership

In June 2007 the Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) earned designation as a Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. Such designations are bestowed on institutions possessing a critical mass of cancer-relevant scientific, clinical and population-based research, as well as the ability to translate research findings into clinical applications. The major purpose of a cancer center is to promote discovery relevant to the pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of cancer, and to capitalize on those discoveries to benefit patients and the community.

To that end, the SCI leadership would like to identify all of those individuals within the broad Stanford community whose research and/or patient care activities are relevant to cancer and to encourage them to apply for membership.
