Cross-Department Sharing of Best Practices

Here, you will find a repository of best practices related to faculty development and diversity currently in use by specific Departments at the School of Medicine. These best practices fall under four general areas:

  • Encourage faculty to participate in “reverse recruiting” visits
  • Regularly track your applicant and interview pool
  • Create Department pipeline programs for students/trainees
  • Focus on casting a wide net in your applicant pool
  • Conduct Skype interviews in order to start a conversation with more potential
    recruits – note that Skype interviews can completely change rank-orderings based on “paper”
