Amendments to Plan Bay Area and 2015 TIP

September 23, 2015 Update

The access improvement projects proposed by BATA for the Richmond-San Rafael corridor required MTC and ABAG to amend both Plan Bay Area and the 2015 Transportation Improvement Program to include these projects.

Amendments to Plan Bay Area and the 2015 Transportation Improvement Program were formally proposed in June 2015. A 30-day public comment period on the proposed amendments closed in July 2015.

Some 220 comments were received on the proposed revisions.

MTC staff presented a summary of public comments and proposed responses at a joint meeting of MTC's Planning Committee and ABAG's Administrative Committee on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015.

The Amendment to Plan Bay Area to include the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Access Improvement Project into the financially constrained long-range plan was approved by the ABAG Executive Board on September 17, 2015 and the Commission on September 23, 2015. The related documents – the Amendment to the Transportation Improvement Program, transportation conformity analysis, and Addendum to the Plan Bay Area Environmental Impact Report – were also approved by these boards.

After the amendments to Plan Bay Area and the 2015 TIP were formally proposed in June 2015, a 30-day public comment period took place. This public comment period ended in July 2015.
