Cantor Arts Center's Signature Biennial Fundraiser Promises Glitter and Glamour

Rodin By Moonlight

September 29, 2007

Stanford, California—“Rodin By Moonlight,” the signature biennial fundraiser for the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University, will be held this year on Saturday evening, September 29, 2007. Limited to 400 guests, this intimate and exclusive event will begin with the “Classic Cocktails” cocktail hour hosted by Classic Party Rentals followed by fine dining outdoors in the world-renowned Rodin sculpture garden. The evening continues with dancing at Rodin’s “The Gates of Hell” to the music of David Martin’s House Party.

This elegant event, sold out for the past several years, and named “Best Black-Tie Event in the Bay Area” by the San Francisco Chronicle, is expected to deliver glamour once again, with culinary creations by guest chef Douglas Keane of Cyrus, Sonoma’s two-Michelin-star newcomer. Just a few of Keane’s recent accolades include being named one of Food & Wine magazine’s best new chefs for 2006, Esquire’s chef of the year, and James Beard Nominee for 2007. Cyrus is also listed among Gourmet’s top 50 restaurants.

The guest list promises a group of distinguished individuals. This year’s Honorary Chairs are Andrea Hennessy and John L. Hennessy, Stanford University’s president. Guests in previous years have included Nobel Laureate Paul Berg, former Secretary of State George Shultz, Ambassador Bill Lane, former White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta, and Congresswoman Anna Eshoo.

Wells Fargo Bank steps up as this year’s Signature Sponsor, joined by new corporate sponsors Jefferies & Company, Inc., Frette, and Koret Foundation, as well as long standing sponsors Neiman Marcus and Morgan Stanley.

Net proceeds will benefit the Cantor Arts Center’s educational programs and exhibitions, and help the Center to remain admission-free.
