Spine and Peripheral Nerve Surgery - Patient Care

Patient care is provided by a diverse group of spine neurosurgeons and rehabilitation physicians providing care for patients at Stanford University Medical Center, at the Veteran’s Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, and at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. The spine surgery community at Stanford is large and diversely subspecialized, with our spine neurosurgeons enjoying a close and collaborative relationship with Stanford’s orthopedic spine surgeons, enhancing opportunities for our patients as well as our trainees. Neurosurgical spine treatments are extended by the rehabilitation services provided by the nationally recognized Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Units at the VA Palo Alto and Santa Clara Valley MC, giving us an integrated approach to every aspect of spine care. Our clinical effort is complemented by our research program that seeks to discover better ways of treating spine patients from molecules and stem cells to implants and improved clinical outcomes for all spine patients. Some of our surgeons are also our researchers: Stanford Neurospine is a large and concerted effort to advance spine care from the operating room to the laboratory and back.
