Employees asked to confirm home addresses

STANFORD -- The office of Total Compensation, gearing up for the annual Open Enrollment period for employee benefits scheduled for November, asks employees to make sure their home addresses are listed correctly before Sept. 15.

Employees -- particularly those who have moved during the past year or have changed jobs -- should check their addresses online, in the Prism system, or ask their staff affairs officer for assistance. Staff affairs officers should have circulated information about the address checks to employees in their administrative areas.

There are no significant changes in Open Enrollment this year, said Claire Hamilton of Total Compensation. Open Enrollment refers to the annual period in which eligible employees are permitted to make changes in their health and welfare benefits, including medical and dental plans and life insurance, for them and their dependents.

Minor changes are expected in some of the individual benefit plans, and will be detailed in Total Compensation News, which will be distributed in early October, she said.

Rate changes, if any, will not be known until the first week in November, and will be included in the Open Enrollment workbook. The office also is planning a number of events at which questions about benefits can be answered, including at least one public enrollment meeting. The annual Benefits Fairs will be held Tuesday through Thursday, Nov. 7-9, at various campus locations.

Address verification needs to be completed by Sept. 15. Enrollment packages are mailed to home addresses as they are listed in the computer system as of that date. Eligible employees who do not receive Open Enrollment packages by Nov. 7 should contact the Office of Total Compensation at 723-3377.
