A new method that allows Stanford and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory researchers to get detailed, three-dimensional images of minute samples of material subjected to the intense pressures of the deep Earth is shedding light on the evolution of the planetary interior.

Grant aids new focus for university's global health efforts

A low-cost infant warmer, created by students in the Entrepreneurial Design for Extreme Affordability class, is an example of the type of global health measures an $8 milllion grant from the National Institutes of Health is designed to encourage.

  • Presidential appointments: These Academic Council professoriate appointments, promotions and reappointments were reviewed by the Advisory Board of the Academic Council on Sept. 28, Oct. 12 and Oct. 26 and were approved by the president.
  • Cantor Arts Center: The Cantor Arts Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, except for Dec. 24 and 25, during the winter break. On Dec. 26, the galleries will be open, but the bookshop and cafe will be closed. The center will be open New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Visit the website for more information.
