The Stanford Center at Peking University will be a "protected space" where Stanford faculty and students can collaborate with their Chinese counterparts in a country often criticized for clamping down on intellectual freedom, officials told members of the Faculty Senate Thursday.

As the women's basketball team suits up for the Final Four Sunday at 4 p.m. PT, Melanie Murphy, a fifth-year redshirt senior, will no doubt offer some encouraging words. Despite four surgeries since she arrived here as a play-making point guard, she's been an emotional center of the team.

  • Cardinal Care rates set for next academic year: Vaden Health Center has announced the Cardinal Care student health insurance rates for the 2011-12 academic year. The cost of the annual plan will be $3,384, a 10.2 percent increase over the current year. Additional information on the plan, as well as details on the Student Dependent Health Insurance Plan, are available on the Vaden website.
