After falling just short a year ago, Stanford came through with the clutch performance necessary to capture its second NCAA title in three years. The NCAA title was also the 100th in Stanford athletics history, as the Cardinal became just the second university to accomplish that feat.

Academics, commercial robot manufacturers and hobbyists showed off their skills and creations at Stanford's second-annual Robot Block Party last week. The event was sponsored by the Law School's Center for Internet and Society as part of National Robotics Week.

Alan M. Garber, the Henry J. Kaiser Jr. Professor at Stanford, has been appointed the next provost of Harvard. Garber, a professor of medicine, is the director of the Center for Health Policy/Center for Primary Care and Outcomes Research, run under the auspices of FSI and the med school.
