Stanford women's basketball coach Tara VanDerveer is one of 10 individuals who have been named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's Class of 2011, which was announced Monday in Houston, Texas. The formal induction will take place in Springfield, Mass. in August.

As a study of its future begins, Searsville Dam has been withdrawn from consideration as part of the university's proposed Habitat Conservation Plan. The dam, one of five on Stanford property, is considered important for irrigation, fire protection, habitat preservation, teaching and research.

The Precourt Energy Efficiency Center has awarded three one-year faculty grants totaling nearly $400,000. One project will use information from the Yang and Yamazaki Environment and Energy Building to test a computer model designed to predict energy use in buildings.
