Stanford is committed to limiting the number of cars that enter and exit campus during peak commute hours. While the university has achieved its goal in the morning with a comfortable margin, curbing the number in the afternoon has proved more challenging.

The Faculty Senate will hear a presentation Thursday about the future of the university's libraries by Michael Keller, university librarian, and John Bender, professor of comparative literature and chair of the Committee on Libraries. Randy Livingston, vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer, and Dr. Arnold Milstein, a professor of medicine, will report on the effects of federal health care reform on faculty and staff benefits.

One out of every four women will die of coronary artery disease. One out of two will die of cardiovascular disease. If you want to know what heart disease looks like, look at 25 percent of the women you know, says Jennifer Tremmel, clinical director of Women’s Heart Health at Stanford.

- Nominees sought for Deans' Award:
The deadline for nominating candidates for the Deans' Award for Academic Accomplishment is Feb. 25. Faculty members may send letters of recommendation to the Office of Undergraduate Advising and Research, 122A Sweet Hall, mail code 3085, or by email. For more information, visit the award website.
- Lively Arts correction:
The ad in yesterday's Stanford Report about Lively Arts' presentation of the Stegner Shorts on Stage contained incorrect information about the time of the performance. It will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 8 p.m. in Dinkelspiel Auditorium.
