Childhood trauma linked to mental health issues, obesity

A recent study led by Victor Carrion, associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford, examined children living in a violent, low-income neighborhood and documented an unexpectedly strong link between abuse, trauma and neglect and their mental and physical health.

Sculptor returns for update on 'Claw' fountain makeover

Aristides Demetrios, who created the sculpture affectionately known as "The Claw" nearly 50 years ago, recently returned to campus to help "tune" the fountain's water jets. Step by step, university staff, from the machine shop to the museum, are working to restore the campus landmark to its former glory.

Senior Elizabeth Clair recalls that her father's experience studying abroad ignited a love of the United Kingdom and her British heritage that made her application for the Bing Overseas Studies Program in England "as inevitable as clotted cream at high tea."
