After four years and nearly 100 public meetings, the Palo Alto City Council Monday voted on the final approvals needed to move forward with the plan to rebuild Stanford Hospital and expand Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital to assure capacity and meet state-mandated safety standards.

Nine people, including two professors, two teaching assistants, three staff members and two undergraduate students have been chosen for 2011 Cuthbertson, Dinkelspiel and Gores awards. The university awards will be presented at the Commencement ceremony on June 12.
