Computerized table lets students do virtual dissection

A new virtual dissection table currently on loan at the Medical School takes advantage of technological advancements in imaging and combines them for use in a 7-foot screen. The table is being tested as a way to further enhance that age-old teaching method — the dissection of human cadavers.

'Mind reading' brain scans reveal secrets of human vision

"Mind reading" scans show that, to our brains, a sparse line drawing of a street scene is almost as recognizable as a detailed color photograph. Researchers, aided by sophisticated software that interprets the signals coming from the scan, can usually tell which photo the volunteer is watching.
